About the authors Louise’s interest in boating has led to commissions for Motor Boats Monthly as well as the Cruising Association’s magazine. She is the CA’s regional Almanac editor for the Netherlands and Belgium, and has led an initiative to extend online availability of cruising information. Web editor for the Broom Owners Club, she also edits her own cruising website, www.ladymartina.com. Over this period she has developed her interest and skills in photography, providing most of the images used in the book. In order to unlock the secrets of locally published cruising information, Louise acquired a working knowledge of the Dutch language, and this book includes a survival guide to its pronunciation and use. David has lived in waterside properties in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk for more than 30 years and has been at home in this fenland landscape that has itself been much influenced by the work of Dutch drainage engineers. A detailed journal-writer and log keeper, many of David’s notes and sketches have been used in the compilation of this book. A Council member of the Cruising Association and Chairman of the Broom Owners Club with 35 years of boating experience, he is keenly involved with and respected within the boating community.
